We went for the Ice Fishing with Snowmobiles with Mikos and Souvi, they were excellent guides who made the excursion very pleasant. It was 20-30 minute drive out to a local frozen lake. We did not catch any fish but had a great time trying. Snowmobiling was great fun and I would recommend getting the €15 insurance (just in case the snowmobiles are damaged if you crash). Standard winter overalls, boots, balaclava, helmets with a sausage lunch included.

My partner and I visited Lapland during Dec 2024 just right before Christmas. And we used staylapland for 2 of our activities, Snowmobile and Sleighride under the Northern Lights. The reason we chose staylapland is basically because of the pick up and drop off policy being quite generous, it is 10km radius of the office (which is in the central of rovaniemi) and 10km even covers the airport. One of the trip we had them pick us up at the Airbnb and drop off at the airport which is really convenient.

Snowmobile experience was really good, it was really private as well. It was my partner and I, and another family of three. I can’t recall the guide’s name but he is a local Finnish. He did an amazing job briefing us and guiding us through the woods with the snowmobile. We had really nice timing for the sun rise as well. He also prepared hot blueberries drink for us and some cookies. I rate this trip 9/10.

Sleighride under the northern lights was more of the underwhelming side. I can’t blame the guide or the company for not seeing northern lights because that’s really science and luck sometimes. But one of the person from the tour asked why do we have to come so far away from the city to look for northern lights and 3 or 4 of the guides failed to answer this question. Not sure because they didn’t understand the question well or maybe the guides were not from Finland. The answer is really simple, we try to get away from the city because of the light pollution and trying to go somewhere that doesn’t have cloud. I feel like that was an important point of the tour, to share correct knowledge about northern lights to people who are new.

The sleigh itself tho was quite disappointing, they probably stored it somewhere in the open air and it had snow everywhere and we had to put our feet into the snow, 100% almost up to my knees. At the point, with the temperature of -20, my feet were really cold and it felt really uncomfortable throughout the ride. But luckily the campfire after that did compensate the activity, with some warmth fire with marshmallow, and also tasty sausages. Hope they had prepared for sausages because we only had one for each person, would love to have more. I will rate this experience 5/10.

Basically staylapland is a good company, really convenient as they pick u up and drop u off. They also have all the relevant gears so you don’t have to worry about it, they will pick u up from your accommodation, to the office, get you suit up then only depart for the activity. The price wise, is alright, fair I would say.

Hicimos Pesca en el hielo con Alejandro. No podemos estar más contentos. Estábamos nosotros 4 solos con el guía. Todo un lujo. Alejandro fue muy atento, profesional y amable. El trato con mis niños de 4 y 7 años fue impecable, disfrutaron con él.
Además el día fue maravilloso, en un lago nosotros solos. Como si fuese de cuento.
Gracias Alejandro por hacernos pasar un día fantástico.

It was the most expensive activity of all (340€ for 2 persons). We were touring very nice places for 6 hours in -29,5C°, which turned out more tiring than entertaining. We didn't see the northern lights, which of course wasn't their fault, but after all we feel like we just wasted money and time. They also took some pictures of as that we still haven't received. If you want to see the northern lights just rent a car with that money and download an app or go to Facebook groups and if they pop up just drive there.

It was the least expensive activity, 230€ for two persons and the most fun. We were provided with winter clothing at their office. Our Guides Suri and Christo did an excellent work by making the activity both pleasant and safe for everyone, real professionals. The snowmobile ride was majestic and the ice fishing was a fun experience. The frozen lake was beautiful and the snow above transformed it into a big playground. Then we enjoyed some snacks by the fire, which was the perfect ending to the above activity.

It was a very fun experience, 300€ for 2 persons. We got to drive the huskies ourselves after a short lecture, and we enjoyed a 5km ride of a snowy forest and a frozen lake. The dogs were adorable and very excited, which made our experience even better.
The only complaint of the whole activity was that we were divided in two groups, so the one had to wait for the other, which made the activity longer than it actually was.

A very friendly, open, and speaking good English guide Valteri, a well organized trip to experience both husky ride and a reindeer farm and a ride/ stroll as well. Tasty lunch, a campfire and nice people make it a good experience. I do recommend this place.

We went on the snowmobiles and ice fishing tour. We got picked up and dropped off no problem. Christof was a great guide. Unfortunately we didn’t catch a fish, but snowmobiles and the snack after with marshmallows made up for it.
