We visited Reindeer Lake Resort Puolukkamaan Pirtit as part of our week holiday in Swedish and Finnish Lapland. Without doubt it was one of the highlights of the week. Anne-Mari was very kind and welcoming but also very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and learning about the beautiful animals in her care. The sleigh ride through the forest was magical and we loved meeting and feeding the baby-reindeers too. Cooking sausages on a stick, eating home-baked cakes and drinking warm drinks by an open fire at the end of the day was a truly awesome experience. Thanks Anne-Mari - you have given us some wonderful memories of a very special day. The Goodman Family (UK)

We had a “reindeer safari” activity at the farm with Ann-Mari and everything was perfect ! Very nice host and beautiful place. We had another similar activity earlier the same week near Rovaniemi and you can’t compare it, at the Lake Resort everything is natural and calm, less people and a family who you can talk to ! Beautiful place, beautiful animals and beautiful humans ! We would come back for sure ! And have to if we want to keep our “reindeer driving license” ?

We've visited the reindeer safari. It was amazing! Friendly people, that are so enthusiastic about the animals and their way of living. Truly recommend!

I can’t say anything regarding the offered accommodation but regarding the reindeer farm this place is absolutely fantastic! The owner takes care of a huge herd (around 130 reindeers actually) of reindeers. The reindeers are kept naturally (during wintertime within a fence and during summer the reindeers are strolling around in the beautiful forests of Lapland). Some are taken out of the herd every year for their meat which is gained ecologically and therefore with an excellent quality. |The owner offers tours and informs visitors about their work, as well as reindeer sledding through the forest. A small souvenir shop offers their high quality products for a reasonable price.|This is not one of the usual tourist traps like in Rovaniemi and the travel from Rovaniemi is absolutely recommended!

We stayed here three nights in December 2015 and I am only now entering a review. It was simply fantastic, beautiful snow everywhere, very comfortable and warm cabin, so peaceful and calming, even with two kids! Northern lights on our evening arrival was a bonus. very friendly host family. Visit the reindeer farm next door and your children young and old will be blown away by this place. And the sauna was just perfect. Thank you Anne Mari, we think about our wonderful time there very often.....

The reindeer farm is so nice, Anne mari treats her reindeers very good and is very friendly. The programs (safaris, feeding) are also cheap compare to other farms but the quality and authenticity are there. Don't hesitate to come if you want to discover reindeers.

Puolukkaaman Pirtit is a simple, friendly and pieceful resort in the middle of the nature of Lapland. The have rooms and cottages. Basic but cozy. It is not a big place (maybe 8-10 rooms / cottages). It is also a reindeer farm. Lake is beautiful and as well as the environment. I guess in summer it is a very nice place for fishhing. I would recommend if you really want to live in the nature of Lapland. Friedly owner.

We stayed in a cottage 200m from the main property. The place is by the lake, comes with all the necessary for the accommodation. Feeling like a Grandma/grandpa place.
The owner is a reindeer farmer. We had the chance to feed the reindeer and get some explaination about their work at the farm.
