Très belle petite ville qui se situe à 50km d'Helsinki ( 1h de bus). Nous avons mis 2h00 à faire un tour complet.

Beautiful, historic old town with lots of quaint shops, great restaurants, and cafés and charming cobblestone streets.

It’s a fantastic place for photos and the view of the ochre colored Riverside warehouses are best seen from the walking path on the other side of the river. It’s easily accessible from the bridges on either side of the collection of warehouses.

It is a photographer‘s dream. The new side of town has some interesting restaurants as well, especially near the water.

Porvoo is an idyllic town nestled just an hour and a half away from Helsinki. We came here for lunch and a brief walk around the old town. The architecture of the shops is archaic Finnish country style with colorful facades painted in pastel colors giving them a very contemporary yet retrospective look. The shops found here mainly sell souvenirs, clothing and arts and craft. Not really a fancy shopping destination but more to buying local produce which is a nice alternative. There is a Sunday market as well with street food and stalls with a variety of food produce, handicrafts and clothing. All in all, it’s a nice countryside visit with beautiful rolling hills along the way to Porvoo. Definitely worth visiting!

Porvoo (rootsi keeles Borgå) on üks Soome vanimaid ja võluvamaid linnu, mis on tuntud eelkõige oma atmosfäärilise Vana-Porvoo poolest. Linn asub Uusimaa piirkonnas, umbes 50 kilomeetrit Helsingist ida pool.

Vana-Porvoo ainulaadne atmosfäär

Vanha-Porvoo munakivitänavad ja punased jõekalda laod on linna kuulsaimad vaatamisväärsused ja sümboliseerivad selle rikkalikku ajalugu. Siin saab jalutada kitsastel alleedel, imetleda ajaloolisi puitmaju ning avastada väikeseid butiike, galeriisid ja käsitööpoode. Porvoo katedraal on üks piirkonna olulisemaid vaatamisväärsusi, mis kõrgub kaunilt vanalinna kohal.

Porvoo on ka kakskeelne linn, kus ametlikud keeled on nii soome kui ka rootsi keel. See loob ainulaadse multikultuurse atmosfääri ning palju silte ja teenuseid on saadaval mõlemas keeles.

Porvoo tänapäeval

Lisaks vanalinnale on Porvoo elav ja moodne linn, kus elab umbes 52 000 inimest. Porvoo pakub mitmekesist kultuuripakkumist, häid teenuseid ja looduslähedust, kuna see asub mere ääres ja kaunite loodusmaastike lähedal.
Linn on ka kulinaarne sihtkoht, kus on lai valik restorane ja kohvikuid, alates Michelini tärniga restoranidest kuni traditsiooniliste kohvikute ja kondiitritoodeteni. Näiteks Porvoo kuulus Brunbergi kondiitrivabrik on tegutsenud üle 150 aasta.

Porvoo on ideaalne sihtkoht nii päevareisiks Helsingist kui ka pikemaks puhkuseks, kus saab nautida nii ajaloolist võlu kui ka kaasaegseid teenuseid.

Wunderschöner Ort, mit einer süßen Altstadt, dem alten Bahnhof und den alten Warehouses. In der Kirche fand gerade ein Orgelspiel statt. Empfehlenswert ist der Runeberg Kuchen im Café Zum Beispiel. Ich hatte in Porvoo einen Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg von Helsinki ins Saimaa Seengebiet und hätte sehr gerne noch mehr Zeit hier verbracht.

Aina yhtä mukavan virkistävä kohde mukavine pikku putiikkeineen. Second hand myymälät yllättävät iloisesti toisinaan ja tällä kertaa museokorttikin oli käytössä mm. kauppiaan kodissa.
