First of all this is neither a Hotel or an Igloo. It's a hut with a skylight.
Location is fabulous and that's as good as it gets. Only power outlet is a USB port. No shower except at sauna but you have to book your slot. Toilet is similar to a campervan so you are basically pooping into a plastic bag and it's left there for your partner to use after you. Breakfast was a disaster for the âŹ20 they charged. The breakfast room was freezing cold despite the host trying twice to light the fire but to no avail.
The location and concept here are great but both are extremely poorly executed.
Also a sign 500 metres before the entrance roadway would help massively.

I had an amazing stay at SkyFire Village! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortableâevery detail thoughtfully arranged to ensure a relaxing stay.
The service was top-notch, with staff who went above and beyond to accommodate every need with a smile. Their kindness and professionalism truly set this place apart.
And the location? Absolutely perfect!
Overall, my experience at SkyFire Village exceeded all expectations. I canât wait to come back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay!

A total scam! Avoid at all costs!
We booked this hotel expecting a pleasant stay in Lapland, but it turned out to be a nightmare before we even arrived.
Just hours before check-in, we discovered through multiple guest reviews that the room had no electricity and no power outlets, something that was never mentioned during the booking process. I have health issues that require electricity every night for my treatment, making it completely impossible to stay under these conditions.
But it gets even worse: there are no showers or bathrooms. The only way to âwashâ is with buckets of water in the saunaâif itâs not already reserved. And unbelievably, there is no hot water in the morningâyou have to wait until the afternoon. For a hotel shamelessly charging âŹ600 per night, this is beyond unacceptable.
On top of that, there is no possibility to have dinner at the hotel, even though itâs in the middle of nowhere. We requested dinner at 11 AM for that same evening, only to be told it was âtoo late.â How does that make any senseâespecially when we were staying for just one night?
When we called the hotel to cancel our booking, they refused and became outright hostile. The woman on the phone (named Grace) was incredibly rude and hung up on me twice just because I demanded a refund.
To this day, we have received no refund and not even a single apology, despite the fact that we had no choice but to cancel due to their own deliberate lack of information and transparency.
This place is a disgrace. Stay FAR away!

SkyFire Village was an unforgettable escape into nature! The cozy cabins, stunning Northern Lights views, and traditional sauna experience made this stay truly unique. No Wi-Fi, no distractionsâjust pure tranquility. The hosts were welcoming and knowledgeable, and the meals were delicious. If youâre looking for an authentic Lapland adventure, this is the perfect place.

We visited Skyfire village for two nights in February. As weâd read some of the negative reviews on google/booking we were a bit unsure about if we were going to like it, but I can honestly say we enjoyed it very much!
The price per night is quite high, but for this price you get to stay at a unique location far away from the touristy hotels that you find in the centre of Rovaniemi. We stayed in one of the wooden cabins that looks over the frozen lake. It had a comfortable bed with a glass roof from which we saw the northern lights. During the day and night there was a pellet heater burning that kept the temperature nice and warm in the cabin.
When you book this place you should not expect high end luxury since it is really in the middle of nowhere and has no streaming water. There is a camping toilet and sink with a water tank in every room which both worked perfectly for us. There isnât any smell from the toilet and the water from the tank is drinkable.
Since thereâs no streaming water, there also isnât a shower. There is the possibility to make a reservation for the sauna every night (which we would definitely recommend) and within the sauna there are two big containers with hot and cold water that you can use to wash yourself. Since we were only staying two nights, showering in this way was fine for us. Again, donât expect high end luxury: you are staying in the middle of nowhere so you have to adapt to the circumstances.
One critical note for us was on the pricing of the food and activities that are offered by the accommodation. The accommodation offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for respectively âŹ25, âŹ50 and âŹ100 euroâs per person per day. Of course we realised that getting food to this location isnât always easy due to extreme weather conditions, so paying a bit more than you would in a restaurant in Rovaniemi is understandable, but these prices seemed a bit high. Therefore we decided to bring most of the food ourselves and dine at the accommodationâs ârestaurantâ on one night. It is also possible to buy drinks and snacks like sausages and marshmallows for reasonable prices.
The activities that are offered by the accommodation are also really expensive, but if you have your own car I think you could easily arrange your own activities. We came to the location by Uber (which is no problem, we received clear instructions how to get to the village), so we didnât have our own car to easily get in and out of the village. Since the high costs of the activities we didnât book any, but we enjoyed just being in the village and walking in the beautiful nature around it. When we left after two days it took a bit of time to find an Uber back to Rovaniemi, but we managed to find one in the end. So it is certainly possible to get in and out of the village by taxi (+- âŹ90 one way to Rovaniemi).
Overall we loved staying in this place, since it was so unique and in the middle of nature. Also the staff was super friendly and helpful. If you arenât afraid of living a bit of the camping life I think you will definitely enjoy a stay here.

I had the pleasure of visiting SkyFire Village for a business meeting with the owners, and I was beyond impressed. They are passionate, professional, and truly dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience for their guests.
Our meeting took place in the most serene settingâsurrounded by nature, away from distractions, and with a cozy, authentic atmosphere. It was the perfect place for creativity and meaningful discussions. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, ensuring every detail was taken care of.
If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind retreat to mix business with inspiration, SkyFire Village is the place to be. Highly recommended for anyone seeking genuine connections, breathtaking scenery, and top-notch hospitality!

Choosing 1star because I canât give a 0.
We booked and secured this place to have the experience of staying in an igloo peaceful forest environment to watch the northern lights. We planned our whole trip around this experience coming from very far, only to be cancelled a week in advance of our trip, no prior notice, no explanation until I called them. Being 1 week before getting to Rovaniemi, there was no hotels open, especially those with nice views or reasonable prices in high season.
Reason for cancelling on us was for sewage maintenance which could have been planned well in advance (not an immediate accident etc) rather than cancel on your visiting customers arriving in a week.
We were so devasted, even thought of cancelling the whole trip. We only found places with much higher price, not the same experience, but no compensation from the hotel. They told me to come again next year over the call - we are flying 15hrs and with this cancellation, donât think thereâs a second time.
Absolutely Terrible, canât understand why they canât plan maintenance and block off the booking.
They have no idea how much we spent to come for it, how much we were looking forward to it, and how much damage they caused.

When we booked this hotel, the description stated that there was free WiâFi on the premises. This was important to us because we work online. The hotel also looked much more comfortable and atmospheric in the photos.
On the day we arrived, it was already late at night, around 11:00 PM. We were given an address, but it was very difficult to find the place, and we got lost twice. When we finally arrived, we were checked into a room. Nowhere in the description did it mention that there were no power outletsâonly outdated ports that barely charge a phone, let alone laptops.
The room had a bioâtoilet without a flushing system, just a plastic bag. The sink operated from a water bottle. There were no hangers, no cups for teaânothing. We rented the room for a week, expecting it to have the necessary amenities for the price we paid.
In the morning, we woke up freezing because the heater automatically turned off at night, and as a result, I got sick. The only shower was in the sauna, which was just a pump drawing water from a bucket where one had to mix hot and cold water oneself. The shower also had to be booked in advance.
The breakfast, lunch, and dinner were absolutely not worth the money. For the same price, you could have a much better meal at highâquality restaurants in the city center, with better taste and, at the very least, more choices.
Getting to the city center was extremely inconvenient and quite expensive. After staying in the hotel for two nights, we realized we couldnât continue our stay and contacted the owner to request a refund for the unused nights. In the conversation, the owner insisted that there was WiâFi on the premises, but that it only worked for mobile devices (which was not trueâit didnât work at all).
They told us that we could only receive a refund if we canceled our booking and another guest booked our room in our place. However, I believe this is not my problemâI did not stay there for those nights, so I should be refunded regardless.
We contacted Booking.com support, and for them to process a refund, the owner needed to waive the cancellation penalty. However, after Booking.com reached out to him, the owner refused.
Nobody refunded our money, and after three days, when we were supposed to leave, the owner wrote to me saying that he would refund the money for one night instead of four if I gave them a rating of 10 on Booking.com. I refused.
I sincerely do not recommend this accommodation. It is absolutely not worth the price. You can find much better igloo accommodations with proper amenities in the Rovaniemi area for a better price.

Update (20 Aug 2025): Securing the refund for the night we didnât stay required ~5 hours of back-and-forth with Booking.com and the owner, which shouldnât have been necessary. The owner conditioned the refund on deleting all reviews. I removed the Booking.com review but kept this one. He has continued to message me about removing it and has threatened legal action 7 months after my stay. I attach the screenshot here.
After requesting a refund for the night we didnât stay, the owner/GM insisted that I leave a 10/10 review in exchange. When I contacted the booking agency, I learnt this is a common tactic used by the owner/manager, making many of the positive reviews questionable. I refused as this is unethical.
We booked a 2 night stay. The experience was a mess from the start. The welcome message was filled with overpriced tours (around $800 per activity), but no clear check-in instructions. The location on Google Maps was incorrect, and when we arrived, the place was pitch black with no guidance on how to check in.
One of the most frustrating issues was the complete lack of proper shower facilities. There were no showers in the rooms, and the only place to shower was the sauna. But the sauna was only open for a few hours each day, and you had to book it well in advance. On the first night, we were given a 45-minute window between 8:00 and 8:45 PM to use the sauna. This was inconvenient and forced us to scramble to adjust our dinner plans.
When we finally used the sauna, the "shower" was a weak, military-style setup with minimal water pressureâfar worse than any military showers Iâve used before. To make matters worse, because weâd be on a northern lights tour the following night, we were told we wouldnât be able to shower at all since weâd miss the saunaâs cut-off time. This was completely unacceptable considering the price we were paying. Hence, we notified them we would check out one day early.
There were other issues as well: No individual room keys, just a vague assurance from the manager that we could "trust her"âwe had to leave our doors unlocked. The room had minimal power outletsâonly outdated USB-C portsâmaking it impossible to charge devices like my camera or laptop. The breakfast was another letdownâat âŹ25 per person, it was overpriced and underwhelming.
Overall, I would strongly recommend doing your research before booking.
