The most amazing Lapland break for ourselves and our 2 daughters (7 and 9). It was everything we could have wished for and more. |The Davvi Arctic Lodge is set in the most gorgeous, natural surroundings, away from the commercialised, tourist areas. It is rustic, traditional, cosy and homely. The rooms are basic, but comfy and lovely and warm after a day in the snow.|The food was plentiful and hearty and we all managed to find things to eat each day, which with a pickup eater was amazing! |The location, being close to Sweden was great, as we had a walk over and loved being in two countries at the same time!! |The package with Transun was also amazing, and both my girls came back even truer believers of Santa than when they went!||If we could, we would go back in a heartbeat.

Had the best stay in the Davvi Arctic Lodge with a group of friends. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is clean, functional and comfortable albeit too hot. The food is ok, basic but plenty of choice for all meals.|We did the Snow Mobile trip at night which was magical and the Northern Lights made a spectacular appearance. The Reindeer camp visit was very relaxing and serene and the Huskie Sledding was a real adrenaline rush and great fun. All trips were well organised with informative, friendly and helpful guides.| We walked to Sweden which was a bonus and did some walks and sledging around the Hotel grounds in the snow.|Would have been helpful to have some little maps showing where the walking trails were.|Overall, we had a brilliant time and I couldn't recommend it enough.

We’d booked a 3 night break through Transun, it was so well organised and we’d highly recommend them.|In terms of Davvi Arctic Lodge we had an Aurora Deluxe room which was fabulous and only a few meters from the main hotel. It was clean, well maintained, heating was easy to control and there was hot water on tap in a wonderful bathroom. Food was better than we’d expected and plentiful. The setting is superb and apart from the organised activities we enjoyed many walks through the forest.|It was a bonus to see the Northern Lights 2 nights out of 3!|Overall we had an exceptional few days and would highly recommend it!

Just returned from a four day trip with Transun which just ticked so many boxes with the area, hotel, trips and things to do. We could not go into the igloos due to the weather conditions -20 they were beginning to melt.||Never hear heard of Enter Air previously but all was fine and they did make alternative arrangements quickly when our flight was delayed overnight in Newcastle.||Like most people have said Enonteko Airport is an adventure and experience in itself but it works. There is no luggage carousel so all the cases are brought to the terminal in airport luggage trailers where it becomes a"free for all" in retrieving your cases. It"s best to hang back and let the ruck die down, many cases were taken off the trailers by fellow passengers and left to one side or the other so best to check both sides.||Davvi Arctic Lodge was fine. Snowsuits and boots were given out imeadiately on arrival. I have to give credit to the guys giving them out, they gave the right size every time. Our room was adequate with a walk in shower plenty of hot water except on the last morning due to the demand with everyone having to be up early and it was kept very warm.||No complaints with the food there was something for everyone. The meals were different every day with at least three choices at all meals. There was a good choice at breakfast time. ||The reindeer safari, driving the dog sleds and snowmobiles, snow show walks were brilliant. The night forest walk may not be for everyone, however, it was on this that we witnessed a Borealis display.||There were so many good things about this trip, the staff were great, the instructors very patient and tailored activities to suit the demographic of the groups.||Overall I would highly recommend this trip with Transun and if you go in January when Santa is on holiday it is very quiet.||My "trip tip" is make sure you have plenty of layers on to keep you warm. When we were on the snowmobiles I wore six layers including my snowsuit.

We have just returned from a fantastic trip to DAL. The organisation from pick up at the airport ti drop off was fabulous. Your itinerary and pick up times for all excursions and meal times is in reception from arrival so that you can plan your free time or even purchase more activities. Every single member of staff were helpful and friendly and it made it feel like a family. The communal areas were cosy and warm for relaxing. We had a room in the main hotel which was convenient as I even popped to breakfast in my slippers 😀 the bed was comfy and the shower was great. The outlook from the large window was very pretty. The food was hearty and evening meals included over the 4 nights, a daily soup choice + day 1 beef stew, 2. chicken curry, 3.roast chicken breast and 4.salmon and a vegan choice daily some kind of potato and veg. We enjoyed each evening meal. The breakfast was fine and included... Juice, Cornflakes, porridge, rice crisps, yoghurt, toast n jams, pancakes, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, crispy bacon and beans. ||We would highly recommend the Northern Lights tour, Davvi Artic Lodge and Transun, and return in the future. We are so pleased we booked this.||*Pint larger is 9euro and small glass wine 11euro or a bottle 35euro.....so if you like a drink you could bring some like we did. Soft drinks 3euro. ||*Recommendation: would have loved to see a microwave so I could have heated my food, as I like it hot (herd a few conversations about this) Also to provide tea & coffee after all meals not just breakfast. Only a small thing that would make it excellent for me.

Trip of a lifetime! Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Transun!||We had a wonderful time in the winter wonderland of Karesuvanto. We stayed for 4 nights and flew from Humberside Airport and stayed a 3 bedroom fell house, a short 2 minute walk from the actual hotel itself.||Our departure from the small enontekio airport to the resort was smooth and quick, straight onto a coach for 45 mins to our first stop which was to get our suits and boots, which despite temperatures going to as slow as -35 on our trip, they kept us extremely warm and we had no issues at all with them! That night we had a lovely meal followed by a welcome meeting including all details of activities and our stay etc.||Our first day activity was the reindeer camp which despite the cold, was a lovely way to start the day and the whole party really enjoyed it, we learnt about how important the reindeers are to the Sami culture and how a local grew up with it, before our 20 ish minute long ride on them round the beautiful landscape that surrounded this reindeer camp. That afternoon we went sledging and enjoyed the snow and last of the sun before it set around 4pm, then to a nice warm filling meal in the restaurant before going on a short search for the northern lights, no luck that night.||Our second day started with the fell viewpoint snowmobile tour which we had pre-booked and wow thank god we did! We had a brilliant time on this excursion which was approx 2 hours and involved us driving to the top of the nearest mountain/hill a quick photo if your hands didn’t freeze then driving back down and seeing some reindeer! This was a lovely but cold excursion and would highly recommend everyone to do it! That afternoon we had some lunch before we chilled out in our fell house and warmed up before dinner, another lovely hearty meal. It was back down to our room to get changed and out for our forest trek, led by Kieran and Paula who took us to the top of Davvi Hill, the hill behind the hotel and told us some stories about the surrounding area and northern lights whilst we drank Gloggi, the local drink. I really enjoyed this and Kieran and Paula were great at explaining more about area and the lights. ||Our third day involved the huskies! We had a short transfer of 20 mins in mini vans to the husky kennels, where our huskies were eagerly awaiting us! We had a wonderful time with the huskies. I got the privilege of mushing (driving) the huskies first which was an incredible experience and I loved every second then at the halfway point, me and my partner swapped and I took the passenger role. It was a little bit physical, braking and turning corners but the huskies knew the way and we had an amazing morning. After the ride we got the chance to stroke and get photos with the huskies and ask the local guides any questions before we headed back to the hotel for our lunch. That afternoon we walked to another country, Sweden! The walk was approximately 20 minutes to the other side where there is a lovely open church, tourist information centre, cafe and a sign to show that you can be in both Finland and Sweden at the same time! Once we got back, we booked the sauna (free) for that evening as only the cabins had saunas in their rooms. It was a lovely way to end the evening after being in -20 all day!||Our fourth and final full day involved snowshoeing in the morning. This is where you essentially have a large tennis racket on your shoe which allows you to walk in the deep snow. We walked through the forest and places before that wouldn’t have been possible. It was a lovely morning and despite not thinking we would enjoy it, we came back wishing we could go again! After another lovely lunch we went to the sauna again to embrace the true Finnish culture before our final dinner which was a traditional Scandinavian meal with food from Finland, Norway and Sweden. This was lovely and a great final night. I would also like to thank the restaurant staff but particularly Dean who|ensured one of the members of the party, who was vegetarian, was looked after and was comfortable, thank you Dean! We went back down to our room before getting ready to go on our final search for the famous Northern Lights on the northern lights snowmobile excursion. We departed the hotel around 11pm on the snowmobiles, and despite this being a bit later than one may like, this is the best time to see the northern lights and it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. After around 30 mins or so we stopped in a reindeer reserve area where we finally saw the beautiful Northern lights, a dream come true! Some more gloggi to warm up a little bit before we embarked on our cold journey back. What a wonderful night!||Our final and departing day we went cross country skiing another optional extra we pre-booked. This was a lovely way to end our holiday despite falling over every minute🤣This was led by Jon who was brilliant and explained the history of the skis and how they have developed to how they are used today. We had a lovely time going up and down the hills around the hotel. We had our final meal at Davvi Arctic Lodge before our transfer back to the airport.||We’ve had time to reflect on our holiday and how much of a lovely time we had. My advise to anyone, do it. Despite the cold or early mornings or late nights it’s worth every second, we felt looked after beyond extent and would go back in a heartbeat!

The accommodation was warm and extremely comfortable. The warmth of the hotel was matched by the warmth and helpfulness of the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Many holidays come and go but DAL has left a lasting impression. THANK YOU to all the staff xx

We thought our room was in hotel but not aurora cabin was told room would have heated floor but wasn’t working and sauna couldn’t get it going. First time been to finland when could walk in soft snow this time very icy although warmer. Loved reindeer and huskies and snowmobile.
