Wir haben eine Nacht im Aurora Dom Hotel Iris verbracht. Es war ein großartiges Erlebnis. Sicher muss man kleine Abstriche machen. Die Unterbringung hat keine eigene Toilette was nachts hin und wieder schwierig sein kann. Wir haben das Iglo mit dem Ofen beheizt, den muss man sicherlich nachts öfters im Winter nachlegen,auch wenn es mit kleinen Hindernissen verbunden ist möchten wir diese Nacht nicht missen uns hat es sehr gut gefallen

Wir haben im Winter eine Nacht im Aurora Dome im Hotel Jeris verbracht und würden es für das Geld Wir haben im Winter eine Nacht im Aurora Dome im Hotel Jeris verbracht und würden es nicht nochmal machen!||Das „Zimmer“ war schön und auch die Lage direkt am See war toll. Das war aber auch schon das einzige positive. ||In dem Zimmer gab es einen Ofen, den man mit Holz selber heizen könnte und eine „Heizlüftung“, allerdings war diese so laut, dass man sie bei Nacht nicht an lassen konnte. Demzufolge haben wir mit Feuer im Ofen geheizt. Hier war allerdings das Problem, dass wir jede Stunde Holz nachlegen mussten, da es ansonsten bei -20 Grad Außentemperatur sehr schnell sehr kalt im Zimmer wurde. Somit mussten wir die ganze Nacht immer wieder aufstehen, um Holz nachzulegen, weshalb an Schlaf kaum zu denken war.||Zweites Problem war, dass es in dem Zimmer kaum Licht gab und wir mit Taschenlampen nach unseren Sachen suchen mussten. Nachdem es im Finnland im Winter die meiste Zeit dunkel ist war dass sehr nervig. Die Begründung des Personals war es, dass man so die Nordlichter besser sehen könnte, was ja schön und gut ist aber wenn ich nunmal Licht brauche, weil ich etwas suche hab ich keine Lust eine Taschenlampe dafür zu benutzen...||Nächstes Problem waren die nicht vorhandenen Duschen und Toiletten. Dass es in dem Zimmer kein Bad gab wussten wir, aber nachdem es sich um einen „Campingplatz“ handelt, sind wir davon ausgegangen, dass es, wie bei jedem normalen Campingplatz auch, ein Waschhaus geben wird mit Duschen und Toiletten. Dem war allerdings nicht so. Man sagte uns wir sollen die Duschen in der Sauna benutzen und die eine Toilette die es dort gab (siehe Bilder)! Es gab kein normales große Waschbecken, wo man sich in Ruhe die Zähne hätte putzen können oder das Gesicht waschen, zumal dieser Saunabereich von unserem „Iglu“ sehr weit weg war und man bei -20 Grad nicht unbedingt Lust hat in der Nacht so weit zu laufen, wenn man mal aufs Klo muss. Bei einem Preis von 320€ für eine Nacht erwarte ich, dass ich wenigstens ein vernünftiges Waschhaus habe mit normalen Toiletten, Waschbecken und Duschen und nicht, dass ich in der Sauna auf die Toilette gehen muss und duschen muss. ||Der Sauna Bereich bzw Spa Bereich war an sich ganz schön, allerdings eher alt. ||Das Frühstück war auch nicht wirklich toll und qualitativ nicht gerade hochwertig. ||||Also alles in allem würde ich es für das Geld nicht empfehlen, da das Preis-Leidtungs-Verhältnis einfach nicht stimmt.

Joined the 8D7N Best of Lapland programme, upgraded the 1st night to the aurora dome for a surcharge of 240 Euros. After arriving Kittilä airport, was transferred and dropped off there directly. ||||There are only 4 domes which make it feel special and pretty exclusive. Just love the cozy decor and thoughtful details. The decor in each dome is slightly different. Bedding is comfy. The log burner will heat up the tent very quickly and just 1 round of log is sufficient for the whole night. At first I was worried and did 2 rounds of fire before bed and it got way too hot I actually had to open the door for a good 10 mins to air it out. Could charge my mobiles and camera in the dome. Wifi only in the main building, I had local data sim so not a problem for me. Complimentary small bottle of sparkling wine. It was so nice waking up in the morning with the view.||||Wish the dome was ready a little bit earlier as I arrived the place very early before 10am and although everyone had checked out the domes by then, the tents were only ready at 3pm so I had to wait in the resto area until then. The staff did make sure that I checked in as soon as it was ready. Also not ensuite so a few mins walk to the toilet and shower. ||||I did have an issue that the door could not be locked as I had no choice but to leave all my camera, laptop, passport and money in there, it was simply not practical to carry all of these whenever I had to leave the dome (to go for dinner or shower or for a walk). I moved everything to my handcarry suitcase and lock it but the whole thing can be taken by anyone easily. I understand it is a safe country and a safe area but you just never know. Also I was travelling solo and really didn't like the idea that anyone can just open the door and enter at night. Doesn't seem to be difficult to make the door lockable. ||||The domes are based in Torassieppi, where the reindeer farm, Winter Village with the ice bars and rooms are based so can visit these, not much other facilities otherwise. Restaurant is much smaller than Harriniva and Jeris. Pretty sure they can arrange all the activities as with Harriniva or Jeris since they are all part of the same group. The activities are awesome and I had reviewed them separately.||||Despite the few issues, it was still a special and memorable stay and I do recommend staying for a night for the experience.

As islanders living on the equator, everything was amusing to us when we were in Finland. We get to fetch our own wood, start a fireplace and keep the fire going to stay warm. Torassieppi winter village made our stay truly memorable - still can remember vividly despite only writing this review after more than half a year. ||We were glad we chose to stay in the Aurora Domes and we were not disappointed even-though we did not get to see the Aurora borealis due to heavy cloud cover during our time there. Our stay was fantastic as we can watch people go ice fishing, husky and reindeer sledding, and snowmobiling from the Aurora domes itself. I believe that our stay would be more spectacular if the northern lights were visible then. ||The domes had an electric heating lamp which was good so you don't have to keep your fireplace lit all the time. And if need be, there is an "emergency room" for you to sleep in if the domes get too cold (which I believe would not be an issue). It was very beautifully decorated and cosy so it's perfect for a romantic stay - except there's no curtains for privacy (but I don't think anyone could see the bed area as it is slightly above ground and surrounded by deep snow).||However, there is no toilet and shower in the domes but it was alright for us and a great experience nonetheless.||Would definitely recommend choosing to stay in the Aurora domes!

We arrived late at night without a reservation, looking for a place to stay. In the end, we ended up having the best night ever. First because of friendly staff, who did everything to make our stay pleasant. The girl even turned on the sauna just for us at 11pm. The cottage rooms are brand new and clean. The breakfast was delicious and they even organized a northern lights show above the lake for us (hahaha), so this place is absolutely perfect for watching aurora.||Highly recommend this place!:)

Nous avons une nuit dans l’igloo et avons apprécié le côté cosy et calme du dôme. Le dôme est très beau, bien décoré, on y est bien au chaud pour profiter du paysage. Les toilettes et la douche se font à quelques pas des dômes, et les repas sont au restaurant de l’hôtel. Les repas sont copieux et très bons, une petite bouteille de champagne nous a été offert à partager à 2. L’accueil est excellent, le personnel est au petit soin !

4 domes available on site as well as various cabins. Each cabin has a slightly different them but they are delightful. The log fire is simple and very effective. The view is ok although if the Northern Lights are not directly in the viewing area the view may be ineffective (we did not witness them on night we stayed in the dome) Biggest drawback is the walk of 50mtrs or so to the shower block and toilets, normally wouldn't be an issue but at -20 degrees in the middle of the night, not good. The entrance has a lockable wooden door which is tricky to operate but allows the security of belongings (and probably a fix as a result of some negative comments on this site). Staff at the centre are very pleasant and helpful and the food in the small restaurant is delicious and plentiful.
